Mother Goose has served the Columbus-Lowndes community since 1985, adding comfort and joy to story times at the library for both children and their parents to appreciate. Multiple generations have grown up on the floor of the public library learning manners, numbers, and more under Mother Goose's sunny leadership.
Mother Goose hosts weekly story times at the library as well as her own Valentine's Day Tea Party every February when Valentine's Day rolls around. Read more about these programs below:
Mother Goose Story Times
If you are new to Columbus and Lowndes County, you will quickly hear tales of Mother Goose and her story times at the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library. Mother Goose Story Time is held twice every Thursday. Story times are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and then again from 4:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each story time is unique and full of lessons in counting, manners, and self confidence. This program is recommended for children ages three (3) to six (6).
Mother Goose Valentine's Day Tea Party
Every February, Mother Goose hosts her own Valentines Day Tea Party. This program invites children to experience a tea party with Mother Goose as she provides guidance on table manners and courtesy towards others. Children are asked to dress up and wear fancy clothing for this special time.
