COVID-19 Safety + Procedures
For the safety of our patrons, staff, and community members, the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library System has enacted a variety of procedures during the novel COVID-19 pandemic. The library system and branches have re-opened as of July 2020 to fully operational hours, but have placed limits on certain services and are following all current guidelines to promote social distancing. Listed below are actions the library system has taken to mitigate the spread of germs to create a safe space for further library services.
-
All library locations encourage masks to be worn at all times while inside CLPLS buildings and social distancing is also encouraged.
-
Full contactless curbside services still available upon request.
-
Protective screens have been placed at circulation desks to protect staff and library patrons alike.
-
Library computer stations are limited to 45-minute sessions, with disinfection occurring after shutdown.
-
Study spaces are provided for students enrolled in virtual schooling.
-
Additional sanitation stations have been added to the Columbus-Lowndes Library System branches.
-
In addition to our physical location services, the Columbus-Lowndes Public Library has added a variety of resources to our Digital Library for our patrons and community members to access at any time from the comfort of their own homes.
